We have wild horse mushrooms growing like crazy in our yard under the tarp that is under the bed of rocks. We have two small dogs that we sometimes find nibbling on them. We try to "harvest" the mushrooms as best we can. How dangerous is this for our dogs? I was hoping they had some kind of inner instinct but they seem a little dim, cute but dim. How bad are these mushrooms for them?

According to Wiki, horse mushrooms are edible to humans, but must be cooked first.

I would still keep the dogs away, since there are plenty of foods humans eat without issues that can kill a dog.

Canids unfortunately don't know by instinct what is safe to consume, they must be taught by their pack.
