Q & A: Hoagie Haven owners to expand business (and Sanchez toppings) to new pizza shop (The Daily Princetonian)

The Maltabes brothers, the owners of Hoagie Haven, will open up a pizza
restaurant, "Slice Between," in the storefront next to the Hoagie Haven on
Nassau Street by the end of May. The site was occupied by Old World Pizza
until it closed down a few weeks ago.

The Daily Princetonian spoke with Hoagie Haven co-owner Costa Maltabes to
discuss the acquisition, the potential opening dates and some familiar flavors
from Hoagie Haven that will reappear in pizza form at Slice Between.

If selling fake brands is illegal, why is it hundreds of stores on Canal Street, NYC doing it. brazingly.?

After a visit to Canal Street in New York City I found hundreds of vendors, many of which were storefront selling nothing but brand name purses and shoes. Out on Display for everyone to see. Not in some dark back room that you might think. What also surprised me is there were many police around that were not shutting any of them down, and seemed to care less. Later I learned Canal Street is famous for replica (counterfeit) stuff for sale and that millions go there just to buy a counterfeit.

Tell me, if this is truly illegal or enforced then explain to me why there are so many brazen shops on canal street doing it in plain view. It was shop after shop, storefront, street vendor, you name it, the whole street was nothing buy 99.9% counterfeits.

Tell me why it is illegal for me to sell, but obviously not illegal for them. I mean there not even telling people the stuff is fake.

I would love to hear the explanation for this one.
