Real Advice ONLY Please?
My college just found I have a pet, and by pet I mean a small emperor scorpion, in a 5 gallon fish tank. All we are allowed are fish in up to a 10 gallon tank.
Should I plead my case to the RA, by providing information on emperors, showing the tank and what not, how I have it set up and explain they can't not crawl glass or open the top of the cafe. And that it poses no threat unless you stick you hand inside and make it angry.
I'm really torn up about this. And it needs to be resolved by thursday.

do try to provide them with information as they will see you as more responsible and trustworthy if you know about your pet and its species; and know you wont do any thing stupid with it.
if you can, try and state the dangers of having a fish as well and try to show that it is not as dangerous to have a scorpion;
a fish in a fish tank.. well if the tank isnt made properly than it can break at the seams; especially with all that water pushing from the inside, and water on the floor can be dangerous (especially round electricity), but exactly how is a scorpion going to break out of a tank? theres no water pushing from the inside and its not going to cut its way out!
or say how you use it to study and can learn from it.
