Everybody gets lonely at some point. Either nobody is home, or all of your friends have work to do. No matter the situation, the feeling you get when no one is around is not a pleasant one. More and more people fill those voids with a fun, loving companion dog.
The companion dog is a type of dog that doesn't really demand too much physical workout. Unlike working dogs, they will feel satisfaction just by entertaining and generally creating a relaxing environment. Also they are usually small dogs that are easy to take care of.

Greyhound
Many will raise their eyebrows when hearing this name. The Greyhound is best known for his place in sports: sprinting very fast. But once you put that behind you will see that this is one of the laziest animals around. In fact, this dog loves life in the apartment so much, most often he will prefer to watch a movie rather than play outside.
He is a very funny looking and funny acting dog. He is somewhat easy to train but it will be hard to teach him not to bark and howl all the time. This type of dog is extremely affectionate with the family he is part of but will handle small children clumsily so it's better you avoid leaving the two of them alone.
This type of companion dog has high health rating. He doesn't drool, he is easy to groom and won't gain weight if you throw him the occasional snack. He has moderate exercise needs. He won't perform tasks with too much intensity but playtime is a different story. That is where you see his true side: he is just a playful couch potato.
